February 2012

It would appear that the old saying "everything that goes around comes around" would be completely applicable in the year 2012. From our viewpoint the fact that young women are now dressing in miniskirts and boots, applying heavy mascara and long eyelashes, and teasing their hair to the sky is a clear indication that the "Swinging Sixties" has resurfaced in the modern world once again. Using that as our guideline, CINEMASIRENS happily returns to the era with the following slices of life from that very open and sensual period of history with the following films:

THREE IN THE ATTIC was a timely drive-in smash when first released in 1968. With a physically appealing cast featuring the gorgeous YVETTE MIMIEUX and babyfaced James Dean look-alike CHRISTOPHER JONES, it holds up today as a reflection of the sex-drugs-and rock & roll mentality of the time. Ebony beauty JUDY PACE was also being promoted heavily as a starlet on the rise, and its popularity prompted her appearance in a sequel with JOAN COLLINS two years later.

THE MODEL SHOP brought French director JACQUES DEMY and star ANOUK AIMEE to Los Angeles in this "art" film we first saw in our teens. The versatile GARY LOCKWOOD headlines as a brooding architect about to be drafted, and under-rated blonde beauty ALEXANDRA HAY is a supporting player along with some interesting cameos from recognizable character actors of the period. Definitely worth revisiting after all these years in the vault.

When a nude pictorial of sultry singer BARBARA McNAIR appeared in PLAYBOY MAGAZINE to promote her appearance in IF HE HOLLERS LET HIM GO it caused quite a stir. Both the layout and her love scene with RAYMOND ST. JACQUES would be considered tame by today's standards, but it certainly helped at the box-office. Even prim and proper DANA WYNTER doffs her duds in this timely melodrama when the civil rights movement was just starting to gain momentum in the United States, so check it out.

Click on to your title of interest to find out more and take a look at our GALLERY section for new uncoverage of the lovely YVETTE MIMIIEUX. And as always there's more to see of these bodacious beauties at both www.facebook.com/pages/CinemaSirens/93719705291 and the CINEMASIRENS YAHOO GROUP.

December 2011:

Hard to believe that CHRISTMAS 2011 marks the 15th Anniversary of CINEMASIRENS being open and online for the holiday season. As you may have guessed by looking at our ENTER page, we agree with Charlie McCarthy that good things most definitely come in pairs. To this day JAYNE MANSFIELD and ANN-MARGRET continue to be our most popular and best selling stars. Followed closely behind them are the Dynamic Duo of SOPHIA LOREN and MAMIE VAN DOREN, who visibly reiterate our affinity for doubling the pleasure and the fun of watching these vivacious vixens during their heydays.

In honor of these ladies and to celebrate our success in providing a home for these great but mostly forgotten films, we are now offering an unprecedented BLOWOUT HOLIDAY SALE. Pick ANY TWO MOVIES from our vast CINEMASIRENS catalogue, and get a THIRD ONE ABSOLUTELY FREE! That's right, simply order ANY TWO movies no matter what the price, ADD A THIRD one to your shopping cart, and you will BE CHARGED FOR ONLY THE FIRST TWO MOVIES on your order form...as simple as that. So join MARILYN in putting a trio of gifts starring our gorgeous gals under your CHRISTMAS tree, and a HAPPY HOLIDAY TO ALL with more good stuff to come in the year ahead!

November 2011

As we sit here preparing the posting of the next batch of movie orphans we have tracked down for our offering on CINEMASIRENS, the temperatures are dropping and a New York thunderstorm beats against the window. What better way to warm the hearts and minds than a collection of hot blooded vixens from the past who continue to generate heat in the present? For your viewing pleasure we present: TIGERS IN LIPSTICK was shot in the late 1970s but is in fact a throwback to the foreign sex comedies that were popular during the swinging open-minded 1960s. And you get not one but four of the hottest actresses from the international cinema scene in a series of individual vignettes emphasizing aggressive women who take advantage of men. No surprise here to find the likes of URSULA ANDRESS, LAURA ANTONELLI, SYLVIA KRISTEL and MONICA VITTI starring and seducing in this homage to hotties!

Although RAQUEL WELCH is generally known for comedic and athletic roles that take advantage of her incredible physical charms, in the movie RESTLESS (aka SIN) it is her dramatic acting skills that command full attention. Set on a Greek island she plays a married woman who has an ill-fated affair with a man from her past who returns to claim her. Possibly one of the steamiest roles she has ever played, her uninhibited dance with the other village women is alone worth the price of the film.

Rounding out our trio of vintage vixens is a newcomer to our site, the tantalizing teenaged PHEOBE CATES. In BABY SISTER, a made-for-tv movie which aired and then has mysteriously disappeared since its original broadcast, she plays a college dropout who moves in with her older sister, the much underrated actress PAMELA BELLWOOD. The situation gets sticky when she becomes entangled with her sibling's amorous husband, leading to a dramatic confrontation unusual for the network presentation it was created for.

Click on to your title(s) of choice to learn more and visit our GALLERY section for a brand new posting of the lovely LAURA ANTONELLI exposing the charms that made her famous. And as always there's more lovely ladies on display at both www.facebook.com/pages/CinemaSirens/93719705291 and the CINEMASIRENS YAHOO GROUP. Check 'em out today.

July 2011

The scorching Summer heat is upon us once again so what could be better than watching some "cool" movies starring the hottest babes of days gone by? In this case CINEMASIRENS now takes a wide U-turn from our traditional retro fare, and offers a rare triple play of "cult" movies which are worthy of re-issue and highlight performances of femme fatales who deserve the title in more ways than one. For example: Playboy model and 70s B-Movie star TIFFANY BOLLING toplines the controversial classic exploitation film THE CANDY SNATCHERS. The plot has schoolgirl Candy Philips (Susan Sennet) brutally abducted and buried alive in the hills of Southern California by a trio of amateur criminals hoping for a hasty ransom exchange. Though misunderstood and distributed sporadically when first released, QUENTIN TARRANTINO gives it a hearty thumbs up so you have an idea of what to expect.

The recently departed PETER FALK was one of our favorite actors, and took on an offbeat role years ago as the manager of two female wrestlers in ALL THE MARBLES. One of those gals, LAURENE LANDON went on to star as the iron jawed hard-bodied heroine of our next offering, the action-adventure-gladiatress "classic"...HUNDRA! Often referred to as the "Female Conan," this rip-roaring sword and sorcery epic with erotic overtones - filled with steamy scenes of barbarian women warriors fighting and making love - gallops along to a thunderous score by Ennio Morricone.

For those of you who remember doe-eyed MILLIE PERKINS for her wrenching performance in DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, hold on to your hats because the little schoolgirl is all grown up. In the psychological horror film THE WITCH WHO CAME IN FROM THE SEA, she delivers the most shocking performance of her adult career as a barmaid turned serial killer. Described by one critic as "a perfect film for anyone who thought Lifetime movies would be much better if they made you feel like you were on Quaaludes and acid", this rarity promises and delivers the most offbeat of characters and plotlines.

For more information about these titles simply click on your title of interest . This is the first time we have ever posted a combination of drive-in-movie delights, and we eagerly look forward to seeing how our CINEMASIRENS fans respond to this "special" event.

May 2011

During the course of years that CINEMASIRENS has been seeking out movies starring glamour gals of the past which have relatively disappeared into obscurity, a few of the stars have risen to the top of the list of fan favorites. This month we feature two of the most popular femme fatales in addition to a very rare but much sought after cult classic: THE CHAPMAN REPORT directed by veteran GEORGE CUKOR was based on the best-selling novel by Irving Wallace inspired by the Kinsey Report on the sexual mores of suburban women. With an all-star female cast of SHELLY WINTERS, JANE FONDA, CLAIRE BLOOM and GLYNIS JOHNS and lots of Warner Brothers male contract players, it was a potboiler that failed at the box office but has been requested by many as a curiosity piece. Watered down from the book it nevertheless has a cast that rises above the material and is worth a screening. Sadly we were only able to obtain a version that is watchable but not up to the quality we would have liked to be presenting so it has been priced accordingly lower and we issue this advisory.

ANN-MARGRET movies continue to be the most sought after over the years, and she is at her most sultry and seductive in BUS RILEY'S BACK IN TOWN. Once again dressed and undressed to excess, she stars opposite the under appreciated MICHAEL PARKS in this small town drama written by playwright William Inge. And watch for the very young and adorable JANET MARGOLIN in her scene stealing performance as the good girl opposite of bad girl MARGRET.

NATALIE WOOD had a long and varied career and the movies we have featured reflects her diversity. INSIDE DAISY CLOVER is the story of a teenager who achieves screen success at the age of fifteen - and becomes a has-been at seventeen. Here she plays the beach gamin whose meteoric rise to stardom and even faster fade-out is chronicled in an incisive behind-the-scenes tour of vintage 1930s Hollywood.

Click on to your title of interest to find out more and take a look at our GALLERY section for a cross section of glamourous images of this month's featured players. And as always there's more to see of these lovely ladies at both www.facebook.com/pages/CinemaSirens/93719705291 and the CINEMASIRENS YAHOO GROUP. New postings display JANE FONDA and SHELLY WINTERS in all their youthful beauty so take the tours.

February 2011

In the last few months we here at CINEMASIRENS have been inundated with requests for unusual, rare, and obscure movies sought after for many years by our customers. As a matter of general policy we do our best to unearth titles which have either disappeared or never made it to the homevideo market, and we therefore take pleasure in presenting this month an interesting assortment in Fan Favorites starting with: Sensational retro striptease artiste LILY ST. CYR has appeared on our site in only one video which shows her taking her famous bubble bath. Until we heard from a devotee of the lady we were unaware of her appearance in the RKO Arabian Nights chestnut SON OF SINBAD. While searching the internet for more info on this costume epic, we unearthed a comment by a rabid admirer which cuts straight to the heart of the matter and share it now with you..."Awesome booberama classic from RKO's master breast man Howard Hughes, this 3D (cup?) extravaganza is a must-see for anyone keen for desert showgirl antics and scantily clad harem chases...every stripper and burlesque queen in the greater LA area must have gotten a gig on this notorious Technicolor romp." It also stars the fetching and underrated SALLY FORREST in various stages of exotic undress so...need we say more?

On a more serious note, it came to light that one of our favorite singer/dancers from yesteryear LOLA FALANA was woefully missing in action in the gritty William Wyler melodrama THE LIBERATION OF L.B. JONES. This racially tense tale of the South also features BARBARA HERSHEY and the long limbed BRENDA SYKES in supporting roles, and was apparently last seen by an ardent admirer in a long since closed drive-in theatre in Texas. With a great supporting cast and a sensually charged performance by FALANA, we heartily recommend this forgotten period piece.

British Babe SUZY KENDALL continues to attract attention here at CINEMASIRENS in her performance in THE PENTHOUSE, so we are happy to be able to present her once again in yet another missing-in-action motion picture DARKER THAN AMBER. Toplining this gritty actioner is one of our most enduring male stars ROD TAYLOR and musclehead bad guy psycho WILLIAM SMITH. Based on the popular John D. McDonald series of detective novels featuring Travis McGee, we had to reach across the ocean to find this one and gladly share it with admirers of both the stars and the genre.

For more information about our newly available movies click on to your title of interest. Also check out the newly posted images of LILY ST.CYR in our GALLERY section and even more enticing images of glamour gals of the past at http://www.facebook.com/pages/CinemaSirens/93719705291 and the CINEMASIRENS YAHOO GROUP.

October 2010

Although most other sites and the general media address the month of October with Halloween related fare, we at CINEMASIRENS continue to buck trends by focusing on what has kept our fans and customers supporting us and returning on an ongoing basis for 14 years. That said, the fact that this month we are once again highlighting icons of the 50s & 60s NATALIE WOOD, SOPHIA LOREN and GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA in sought-after but hard-to-find movies speaks volumes as to the enduring popularity of these stars. So... We've been saving this photo of SOPHIA and GINA enjoying a night out decades ago as an appetizer preceding the entrees this month, and we can never go wrong with vintage pinups of these glamour gals so here you are. The movies on display for your viewing pleasure were all suggested and/or requested by fans and we thank them for the holler out. First up is the somewhat adult fairy tale MORE THAN A MIRACLE starring SOPHIA and OMAR SHARIFF. Although it never quite caught on with audiences outside of Italy, it is a sweet and funny vehicle for the stars and just the sight of MS. LOREN in her variety of bodice splitting tops makes it a collectible.

When it was first released GO NAKED IN THE WORLD was dismissed by critics as a "turgid melodrama" but we beg to differ. Okay, we understand that stars like ANTHONY FRANCIOSA and ERNEST BORGNINE are known for chewing up the scenery and do so here, but GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA is absolutely gorgeous and captivating in her turn as a hooker with a heart of gold, and more than holds her own with these boys. If this flick was produced today you'd see it as an ongoing series on network television so check it out.

NATALIE WOOD hit her stride as a great actress and beauty in the 1960s, and she was rewarded for her efforts with a Best Actress nomination for LOVE WITH THE PROPER STRANGER. The chemistry between her and legendary superstar STEVE McQUEEN ignites the screen and the vintage New York City locations are used for maximum effect in this gone but not forgotten feature. Why it has never been given its deserved shot at homevideo is beyond us so we have taken it upon ourselves to bring you the DVD version to add to your WOOD collection. And as an added bonus check out the NATALIE gallery we have posted as a tribute to the lady.

No monsters and no mayhem to be found here in October. Just the loveliest of ladies in movies emphasizing just how alluring and talented our collective CINEMASIRENS are. So, to paraphrase a very famous cowboy show, "return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear", and thanks for your continued support both here and on our FACEBOOK page.

August 2010

Smoldering, steamy, and hot are the adjectives generally used to describe the weather during this time of the year. However, at CINEMASIRENS these words are also appropriate as a description of the vintage new titles we are offering for the first time in our store. What they all have in common are the sultry stars who shed both their clothes and their inhibitions in pursuit of art, and the somewhat outrageous nature of the films they appear in. For example: Fans to the site know that we have a great affection for ELKE SOMMER, and when she teamed up with SYLVA KOSCINA in the critically acclaimed comedic spy flick DEADLIER THAN THE MALE, double barreled bombshells were the order of the day. Shot during the heyday of satirical James Bond parodies and ripoffs, it continues to be one of the most popular and revered of the genre, and we are thrilled to finally be able to offer it. RICHARD JOHNSON does an admirable job as pulp fiction favorite Bulldog Drummond, and coupled with a fine cast, exotic locations, and the fabulous physiques of its two female stars, we heartily recommend it for your collection.

During the late 60s and 70s, shrewd distributors flew overseas in search of marketable sexploitation fare to bring to American audiences. Whether dramatic like I A WOMAN and INGA, or comedic like DAGMAR'S HOT PANTS and THE BELLBOY & THE PLAYGIRLS, the movies are fondly remembered by those who saw them in their original theatrical releases. One of the biggest hits of the time was the coming-of-age Danish comedy WITHOUT A STITCH, and it stars popular ANNE GRETE as the horny heroine who adheres to doctor's orders in search of exotic adventure. Another rarity unearthed in our search for memorable pleasures of the past.

And last, but certainly not least, one of the most controversial film adaptations in history. Whether called GOOD GRIEF IT'S CANDY or simply CANDY, the Terry Southern novel was transformed into a critically slaughtered spectacle starring sinsational teen discovery EWA AULIN. Throw in scenery-chewing performances by RICHARD BURTON, MARLON BRANDO, JAMES COBURN and others, and you have a recipe for a potpourri of mainstream big budget porn the likes of which has never been attempted again. Add this one as another of our must-be-seen-to be-believed titles and well worth a viewing.

For additional information about the above flicks click on to your title of choice. And as always, you can see more images of these featured FABULOUS FEMMES of FILM in all their glory at our updated GALLERY section. Check out SYLVA KOSCINA both here and at our CINEMASIRENS YAHOO CLUB, and EWA AULIN on display at our FACEBOOK page. Enjoy the terrain!

JUNE 2010

When people ask questions regarding the purpose of CINEMASIRENS, we often refer to the site as a film orphanage. Simply stated, we have spent the last three decades searching for films starring sex symbols of the 50s, 60s and 70s that have somehow eluded the grasp of fans and collectors. Either the creators of the movies have decided to abandon them, or they somehow got lost in the homevideo transition from VHS to DVD format. Our goal has been to rectify that situation, and ensure the fact that these poor "orphans" somehow find the right home where they will be loved and appreciated. That said, let us take a look at this month's offering of "lost" souls: Sultry NATALIE WOOD and handsome ROBERT WAGNER were considered to be the ultimate Hollywood couple despite her tragic ending. During the early days of their romantic coupling they starred together in the Southern tinged soap opera ALL THE FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS. Although critics were vicious and audiences stayed away, it has gone on to become a cult classic and even had a rock group take its name in homage to its lasting appeal. Co-starring GEORGE HAMILTON and SUSAN KOHNER apparently MGM didn't realize what it had nor cared and so this marks its first appearance on DVD.

Those of you who are familiar with this site know that we have always had an affinity for INGER STEVENS beyond her star turn as THE FARMER'S DAUGHTER on tv. In THE WORLD THE FLESH AND THE DEVIL she portrays the last woman on Earth who survives nuclear devastation in New York. Vying for her affection is the multi-racial duo of HARRY BELAFONTE and MEL FERRER in this shocking-for-its time rarity. Worth seeing for the offbeat performances as well as its bleak portrayal of the the end result of the Cold War.

Superstar GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA was among the first group of bombshells to grace our store, and we still can't get enough of her. At the suggestion of one of our Italian speaking customers we searched the world for the vehicle that originally catapulted her to stardom and anointed her THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD. Unavailable in its English language theatrical version we proudly present LAS MUJER MAS BELLA DEL MUNDO as it first appeared overseas.

For more photos and information click on the titles, and be sure to visit our GALLERY section for newly posted images of GINA. And don't forget our FACEBOOK site at http://www.facebook.com/pages/CinemaSirens/93719705291 where we've added some nifty NATALIE WOOD pinups. Don't let these ladies stay lonely much longer!

MAY 2010

In the last few months we have been inundated with requests by our CINEMASIRENS fans for movies that have apparently only seen the light of a projector. Simply put, they have either been released to the home video market prior to the appearance of the DVD format or have never been made available to the consumer at all. Therefore, we have been digging in and searching the global archives in an attempt to unearth that which has been remained buried in vaults for lo these many years and this month we present the first results of our endeavors: Although to this day the beautiful and talented ANNE FRANCIS is best remembered for playing second fiddle to a robot in the sci-fi flick THE FORBIDDEN PLANET and her starring stint in the TV series HONEY WEST, she has had a long and varied acting career. In the underrated period piece GIRL OF THE NIGHT she gives a vivid and acclaimed performance as a prostitute undergoing psychoanalysis. Definitely worth viewing for fans of the lady and the genre of film noir.

Also worth viewing but for an entirely different reason is the tepid trashy turkey entitled THE GREEK TYCOON. Based somewhat on the relationship between Aristotle Onassis and a certain President's widow, it stars ANTHONY QUINN and JACQUELINE BISSET as the star crossed lovers, and features exotic locations and an array of character actors in supporting roles. Among them are the lovelies LUCIANNA PALUZZI, CAMILLA SPARV, and MARILU TOLO who add an international flavor of glamour to this glitzy soap opera.

And finally, one of the most sought-after titles by avid cinephiles is the film adaptation of the Joan Didion book PLAY IT AS IT LAYS. In it the sultry TUESDAY WELD sheds her teen temptress image once and for all, and gives a stark and compelling performance as a Hollywood actress in search of herself amid the vapid and narcisstic terrain of Los Angeles and the movie industry she works in. Considered lost for reasons still unknown to us, we proudly present it for the first time to this site.

Click on the titles for more information about the movies, and visit our newly posted pinups of ANNE FRANCIS in our GALLERY section for a more revealing glimpse of this classic beauty. Next month, more vintage rarities from the video vaults as we respond to your inquiries and desires.

MARCH 2010

Last month CINEMASIRENS was devoted to providing fans with movies featuring a dazzling display of our favorite damsels in various stages of undress... and the response was overwhelmingly enthusiastic. It appears that thematic titles are very appealing to those of you out there who prefer bombastic bombshells of the past to the boring babes of the present and we totally agree. If the current affairs of reality TV starlets, socialites, and rehab wrecks are of no interest to you and you'd rather put your brain on hold with vintage vixens strutting their stuff, take a gander at what we have unearthed for the advent of SPRING. We are admirers of what we lovingly refer to as "good junk entertainment" and the films presented here for the first time since their creation bears us out. One of the most underrated stars of the 50s and 60s was the stunningly sultry KIM NOVAK. In addition to her beauty she also had a flair for comedy and in the long lost tasty morsel entitled THE AMOROUS ADVENTURES OF MOLL FLANDERS she displays both cleavage and great timing. Backed by an all-star cast of English character actors including her first husband RICHARD JOHNSON, this raucous romp is now available for the first time since its disappearance from the home video market in the 1980s. Lots of mindless fun and a treat for all you NOVAK fans. As an additional bonus, we have posted a gallery of photos of her on our FACEBOOK site at http://www.facebook.com/pages/CinemaSirens/93719705291, and suggest you check out our GALLERY section here for a unique tribute to her ageless co-star in the flick...ANGELA LANSBURY.

Another hottie we consider underrated and sadly forgotten is GAYLE HUNNICUTT. Though she gained some prominence during the 1960s her career slowly dissipated and she disappeared altogether in the 1970s after some appearances in foreign horror flicks. She stars opposite one of our favorite male stars from that period GEORGE PEPPARD in the gritty detective actioner PJ. We first saw this when it came out in theatres and have always wondered why UNIVERSAL chose to let it disappear. With RAYMOND BURR as the hateful villain, and a brief but dazzling cameo by the spunky SUSAN SAINT JAMES, there was no way we could let this unsung chestnut disappear from view.

And last, and perhaps in this particular case, least...we offer the most unusual and perhaps incomprehensible lost guilty pleasure of the lot...THE DAY THE FISH CAME OUT. We present it here as a tribute to a very young and incredibly desirable CANDICE BERGEN in one of her first film appearances. The action takes place on an island in Greece and stars an assortment of hardbodied "mod" extras, campy effete men, and CANDICE dressed in the finest costumes the "swinging sixties" have to offer. Worth sitting through for both the experience and a glimpse of the girl before she finally learned how to act rather than react!

For more information click on the titles of your choosing or go to the MOVIES section and check out summaries, prices, and how to order. More good stuff to come in the months ahead so tell your friends about site, come back often, and adopt a movie from our CINEMASIRENS orphanage with whatever purchase you can afford.

Even though MARILYN MONROE is not one of our CINEMASIRENS due to the fact that all of her movies are easily available and thus not classified by us as an "orphan", she is nevertheless one of our all-time favorites. Thus, in celebration of the holiday season we are posting a rare lingerie clad still of her as a present to our customers and fans at the top of our page. And a very leggy Happy Holiday from MARILYN as well starts this UPDATE and announcement of our very own CINEMA SIRENS CHRISTMAS STIMULUS SALE.

Why not follow the path of our scantily attired chorus girl and adorn your Christmas tree or Chanukah bush with one of our under-rated retro movies as seen in the entry page of the site?

And even though gorgeous JULIE ADAMS (Creature From The Black Lagoon) is not featured in any of our items, we couldn't resist posting this Yuletide pinup of her to add to the visual display of festive pulchritude.

The following dozen titles are available for the first time in any format at the individual sale price of ONLY $12. September 2009

This month our CINEMASIRENS update departs from its usual format of adding new titles to the store, Instead, we are taking the opportunity to celebrate the 75th birthdays of two of the biggest international sex symbols and movie stars ever to be be photographed...BRIGITTE BARDOT and SOPHIA LOREN.

Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot was born September 28, 1934. In her early life Bardot was an aspiring ballet dancer. She started her acting career in 1952 and after appearing in 16 films became world-famous due to her role in the controversial film "And God Created Woman". During her years in show business she starred in 48 films, performed in numerous musical shows, and recorded 80 songs. After her retirement from the entertainment industry in 1973, Bardot established herself as an animal rights activist and has since become one of the word's most famous recluses.

Loren was born Sofia Villani Scicolone at the Clinica Regina Margherita in Rome on September 20, 1934, to Riccardo Scicolone and Romilda Villani. Riccardo refused to marry Romilda, leaving her, a piano teacher and aspiring actress, without support. Romilda, Sofia and sister Maria returned to Pozzuoli, near Naples, to live with Sofia's grandmother in order to survive. When she was 14 years old, Sofia entered a beauty contest in Naples and, while not winning, was selected as one of the finalists. Later she enrolled in acting class and was selected as an extra in the Mervyn LeRoy film, Quo Vadis, thus launching her career as a motion picture actress, and ultimately changing her name to Sophia Loren.

In their heyday Bardot and Loren came to epitomise the dual archetypesof fame and sexual power. Bardot, the star of New Wave French cinema was the blonde sex kitten whose natural femininity ushered in a new era of sexual authenticity. Loren, the former beauty pageant contestant who won a 1960 Academy Award for "Two Women", was the brunette studio star who seeped stylised glamour from every pore. Rebecca Lowthorpe, fashion features director of Elle magazine is on record saying that "It was almost a clichŽ of the iconic brunette and the blonde stereotype. Bardot was more of a sexpot or bunny girl, while Loren was more of a sultry sophisticate. Both epitomised their nations' stereotypical style: the French nymphette sex toy and the Italian woman with full-on, big-haired glamour." In honor of the milestones passed by these ageless stars, we are reducing the price of any and all their movies by 15% as a SPECIAL SALE and inducement for our customers to take a look at movies you may never have heard of or passed on for various reasons. Take advantage of this unique opportunity and check out all the wonderful movies these twin titans have given to us over the years.

August 2009

This month we are pleased to feature movies we've been searching for over the last few years and have finally found versions of worth making available to our customers. First up is the low-budget New York thriller CRY TERROR. A highly underrated action flick shot on location starring the wonderful INGER STEVENS as a young housewife and mother who finds herself at the mercy of crazed terrorist ROD STEIGER! Throw in sultry ANGIE DICKENSON as a brunette bad girl and you've got all the ingredients for a flick worthy of CinemaSirens.

Another favorite of ours who hasn't gotten her fair share of appearances on our site is blonde bombshell and generally relegated to wisecracking bimbo roles, BARBARA NICHOLS. She co-stars in THE HUMAN DUPLICATORS, a classic shlock science fiction B-movie starring GEORGE NADER as the hero, giant RICHARD KIEL as the alien, lovely DOLORES FAITH as a helpless victim, and us proudly presenting it as a guilty pleasure.

here) Last, but certainly not least, is a film we only had a still of and needed the film to go with it called BEBO'S GIRL. Finally we have the chance to bring you the stunning CLAUDIA CARDINALE giving a great performance as a survivor of war torn Italy during World War II who must choose between two lovers. GEORGE CHAKIRIS shares star billing in a neo-realistic drama worth adding to your CARDINALE collection and of interest as one of the few times she appears as a blonde.

That wraps up the descriptions, but be sure to click on to our GALLERY for some rare hot pix of the ladies featured in this month's movies. In addition we have also added a new CinemaSirens FACEBOOK site available at http://www.facebook.com/pages/CinemaSirens/93719705291. Check it out and as always, for more information about the films listed here and how to order them, simply click on the title of your choice. Enjoy.

March 2009

Those of you who are familiar with CINEMASIRENS over the years are aware of the fact that we have been experimenting with foreign language titles NOT dubbed into English over the last few months. This change of policy is in direct response to customers who requested we try to provide them with the original versions of the films, generally not available in the mainstream video marketplace. Although we were hesitant at first, we went ahead and found there were indeed collectors who wanted these titles as they were first distributed thus...a continuation this month of hard-to-find European antiquities. One of our all-time favorites has always been the vivacious Italian bombshell GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA. It is therefore our pleasure to unearth the rarely seen Italian comedy IO,IO,IO...E GLI ALTRI (ME,ME,ME...AND THE OTHERS) in its original language. It plays most definitely as a period piece and GINA is wonderful as the narcisstic wife of an inquiring journalist. In addition to her, there is also the beautiful SILVANA MANGANO in a secondary role as well as a brief but outrageous appearance by SILVA KOSCINA three years after her star turn in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. Definitely a must for fans of Italian 60s cinema.

Another favorite of ours as you can see by scrolling the site is German pastry ELKE SOMMER. We have a great fondness for her no matter what the role, even in the inane sex comedy THE WICKED DREAMS OF PAULA SCHULTZ. Best known for the fact that it features the ensemble company of the TV series HOGAN HEROES and was the subject of a PLAYBOY pictorial with ELKE, the film nevertheless tanked when it opened and has since disappeared from view. Definitely a lowbrow comedy it still deserves to be resurrected just to witness SOMMER in various stages of dress and undress throughout the movie.

And in keeping with our intention to provide much needed laughter to our supporters in the midst of this devastating recession, we bring you a title we have been searching for quite awhile entitled THE QUEENS (aka SEX QUARTET & LE FATE), a four part Italian sex comedy. Each segment features a different CINEMASIREN and we know you are certainly familiar with the likes of CAPUCINE, MONICA VITTI, CLAUDIA CARDINALE, and RAQUEL WELCH. Although we normally provide our duplication service from either original film prints or video masters, we were forced to do a trade with another collector in order to finally land the movie. Thus we want to warn you that the visual quality of the title is not up to the general quality we seek to achieve, but it is nevertheless watch-able and certainly worth the effort of viewing.

To find out more, click on the title(s) of your choice. For an additional guilty pleasure click on to our GALLERY section and get a gander at some of the vintage PINUP photos we happily share with you of the featured players this month. We will also be posting some more risque pix at our CINEMASIRENS YAHOO GROUP so join the hundreds of others who patronize the club. As usual there'll be more good stuff coming your way in the months ahead. Enjoy!

January 2009

A happy, healthy, prosperous and entertaining New Year to all of our CinemaSirens customers and fans. We'd like to take a moment to thank you all for your support and encouragement as we begin our 11th year online and delve deeper into the vaults for those lost and forgotten films you come here to rediscover. New to the site and possibly one of the most underrated actresses ever to literally give her all onscreen is ebony goddess PAM GRIER. Mired mostly in low budget exploitation films at the beginning of her career, she finally had the opportunity to appear in a big budget Hollywood film hoping to crossover into mainstream. Unfortunately that picture was DRUM, the trashy followup to the equally trashy MANDINGO, and she was reduced to a small role and the usual nude scenes demanded of her. Nevertheless, we have unearthed it for your viewing pleasure because not only is she in it, but it also features ISELA VEGA, FIONA LEWIS and bad girl RAINBEAUX SMITH in equally revealing roles. How could we resist bringing you this All-Star cast?

And last but certainly not least is sixties icon PAMELA TIFFIN. She lis seen on our site with ANN-MARGRET and CAROL LYNLEY in THE PLEASURE SEEKERS and we just had to find another film with this sultry sweetheart. Sadly, she made some bad career choices during the seventies, and going to Italy to appear in a series of bad movies pushed her out of the public eye and into only the memories of her ardent fans. IL VICHINGO VENUTO DAL SUD (American title:THE VIKING WHO CAME IN FROM THE SOUTH) is a very offbeat comedy and though it really wastes her talents, it still gives us the chance to experience her surreal beauty and timeless charm, along with the fact that she exposes more flesh here than on display in any of her Stateside roles.

For more information click on the titles of your choice or go to the MOVIES section and check out summaries, prices, and shopping carts. Also, as always, we have posted some great still photos of this month's stars in our updated GALLERY so check it out. Lots of good stuff still to come in the year ahead so don't be a stranger to these pages, and thanks once again for the continued worldwide enthusiasm and support. We must be doing something right!

June 2008

As we head into the Summer months of sweltering temperatures our thoughts turn to the ladies who provide the most heat on our site. At the top of our list is perennial Italian bombshell SOPHIA LOREN, who stars opposite VITTORIO De SICA in one her earlier foreign films SCANDAL IN SORRENTO. Shot very much in the realistic streetstyle of the Postwar period, this subtitled rarity provides a clear picture as to why the world was starting to pay attention to this nubile newcomer.

A very close second in the hearts and minds of many moviegoers, was another Italian beauty who smoldered onscreen both in her own country and later the United States, CLAUDIA CARDINALE. In ILL BELL' ANTONIO she is teamed up with perennial heartthrob MARCELLO MASTROIANNI and holds her own as the bride who finds that her new husband is not the great lover he is purported to be. Like LOREN, this is one her first starring roles and shows why she sustained a long and fruitful acting career.

Last but certainly not least, is an actress from across the Atlantic who had a very brief but attention grabbing career before her unfortunate demise, British export CAROL WHITE. She garnered rave reviews as the star of POOR COW, and can be seen here co-starring with ROD TAYLOR in the serio-comic satire THE MAN WHO HAD POWER OVER WOMEN. We've been searching for this one for years and the effort to find it was well worth the wait.

For more information click onto the text links, and be sure to visit our newly updated GALLERY section for some choice photos of these lovely ladies.

April 2008

One of the most enduring international sex symbols in movie history is Italy's sultry CLAUDIA CARDINALE. Even though she is a favorite with us as well, the fact that most of the films she has appeared in are readily available has kept us from posting any of them on CINEMASIRENS. However, since we are in the business of locating rare, unique and out-of-circulation motion pictures, it is with great pleasure that we announce this month a true collector's find. In 1965 she starred opposite ROCK HUDSON in BLINDFOLD, a comedic thriller which did well at the boxoffice. In 1969 she reteamed with him in the comedic caper entitled A FINE PAIR, which has since disappeared from view apparently since it did not do as well when when originally released. Any movie that has this brunette beauty in it is worth watching, and the duo bring a nice chemistry to to the screen so it's a welcome addition to our CARDINALE collection.

Over the years we've been able get our hands on some of the more obscure pictures starring blonde bombshell ELKE SOMMER, but I MISS YOU HUGS AND KISSES, a cult item from Canada, has eluded us...until now. Based on a true legal case we're not giving anything away by telling you that ELKE is a famous model married to wealthy man who has apparently murdered her. Told in flashback style this is a rather different performance for the usually ebullient actress and one worth watching.

Even darker than the above item is the supernatural British thriller EYE OF THE DEVIL. Though it stars mainstream legends DAVID NIVEN and DEBORAH KERR, the spotlight is on doomed dolly SHARON TATE in one of her earliest and forgotten starring roles. The eerie coincidence of her appearing as a witch in a film featuring ritualistic bloodletting activities hasn't been lost on the legions of writers and fans who have written us asking about it. A bit unnerving perhaps but her youthful beauty and solid performance make it eminently viewable.

Ordering and plot information are posted elsewhere when you click on the titles, and be sure to check out some delightful saucy images of all of these scintillating seductresses in our GALLERY section.

February 2008

We were delayed a bit starting off the new year with an assortment of unique titles because it took longer than expected to unearth them. But unearth them we did, and now we proudly present a varied selection of movies starring some of our loveliest, talented and in some cases, forgotten, CINEMA SIRENS. Having stated that, we begin with the English stunner SUZY KENDALL who started out as a model and achieved critical acclaim and renown as an actress. Her riveting performance in the highly perverse and sexually charged melodrama THE PENTHOUSE deserves our attention and the memory of her and it has lingered for forty years. And of course, the appearance of the sultry and mysterious MARTINE BESWICK in the film's finale only enhances its viewing value.

The great director SIDNEY LUMET was the subject of a recent TV program and happened to mention working with a very young SOPHIA LOREN in the film THAT KIND OF WOMAN. He felt it never got the attention it deserved but was happy with it and since we'd never seen or heard of it we decided to find it. The picture has a great supporting cast of TAB HUNTER, KEENAN WYNN, GEORGE SANDERS and the luscious BARBARA NICHOLS and turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. After all, how can you ever go wrong with SOPHIA?

In April of 1968 PLAYBOY MAGAZINE included a photo of a completely naked ELKE SOMMER with her back turned to apprehensive soldier GEORGE HAMILTON from the WW2 drama THE VICTORS. The photo was so compelling in its noir look and feel that we always wondered what happened to that film. Well wonder no more as we finally found it and along with ELKE the picture literally boasts a "who's who" of hot European actresses. Where else can you find MELINA MERCOURI, JEANNE MOREAU, SENTA BERGER, ROMY SCHNEIDER and the sadly underrated ROSANNA SCHIAFFANO emoting in the same title?

Click on the movie texts to get ordering information, and as an extra bonus may we suggest you go to our GALLERY section where you will find some eye popping stills of the ladies featured this month in various stages of dress and undress. Enjoy.

November 2007

This month at CINEMASIRENS we are bringing our audience something we've never offered prior but have had many requests for...foreign language films with their original soundtracks. In the case of our first title A COEUR JOIE (HEAD OVER HEELS) starring a thirty-something BRIGITTE BARDOT, we have secured a quality master in French with English subtitles. It was released in the United States as TWO WEEKS IN SEPTEMBER but we have opted to go with this version about a famous fashion model caught between her older lover and the younger man who captures her fancy while on assignment. It's a more mature and confident BARDOT than previously on display in the 1950s and worth watching.

Another one of our foreign favorites is Austrian beauty ROMY SCHNEIDER. She stars opposite her real-life lover ALAIN DELON in LA PISCINE/THE SWIMMING POOL, an acclaimed motion picture never released in the United States in English. This is the French language original version with NO subtitles but the visuals are magnificent and the plot is easy to understand even without translation. Add to the mix a very young and seductive JANE BIRKIN and you've got all the ingredients for a seductive erotic thriller. Highly recommended.

And speaking of original soundtracks, THE BEAT GENERATION starring MAMIE VAN DOREN (later re-released as THIS REBEL AGE) is chock full of music from the period with such luminaries as LOUIS ARMSTRONG and RAY ANTHONY adding to the musical mix. This one is strictly in English though the hip bebop language of the period may be considered foreign to many of you out there. A dark noir exploitation film from the king of fifties exploitation Albert Zugsmith, it's another vehicle for bad girl MAMIE to strut her seductive stuff.

Be sure to check out our GALLERY section for some pinup pix of the this round's sexy stars, and visit our CINEMASIRENS YAHOO GROUP for additional photos we deem a bit too racy for our site.

September 2007

This month CINEMASIRENS is proud to present three highly requested movies which have slipped into video oblivion but certainly deserve to be resuscitated. First up is the sexy and sassy DYAN CANNON in the shlock soap opera DOCTORS WIVES. Referred to by Leonard Maltin as "glossy garbage", this big studio production has to be seen to be believed. Although DYAN only appears in few scenes, she gets star billing and chews up the scenery whenever she's visible. How you could resist such tawdry temptation?

The absolutely adorable YVETTE MIMIEUX rejoins ROD TAYLOR, her former co-star from THE TIME MACHINE, in the highly underrated actioner DARK OF THE SUN. Although this picture received much critical acclaim when released, it has since been relegated to obscurity and this is the first time it has ever been made available in DVD format. If you liked the DIRTY DOZEN, THE GUNS OF NAVARONE, and anything with YVETTE in it, this one is a collector's item.

And as a delectable desert item in this month's menu, we are proud to present another lost treasure starring the scrumptiously seductive RAQUEL WELCH. In one of her earlier American starring roles, she plays a go-go dancer on the run from a psycho killer in FLAREUP. Lots of drama, unusual locations, and of course, the young and exotic RAQUEL make this a guilty pleasure worth owning.

Click on the titles to get ordering information, and as always, don't miss the collection of seductive stills newly posted in the GALLERY section.

August 2007

As we head into the last part of the Summer, we've decided to release some titles that have been lingering in the vaults but have yet to be re-mastered and made available in our store. We have always had a place in our hearts for NATALIE WOOD and since most of her movies are easy to find elsewhere, she has yet to make it to CINEMASIRENS. That is, until now, as we bring you a very young NATALIE in her first starring grownup role in the crime melodrama A CRY IN THE NIGHT. Supported by a unique cast of character actors including a very young and very scary RAYMOND BURR, this picture features the young starlet as she crosses into womanhood and shows the first signs of sexual allure.

Another favorite of ours also noticeably missing from the site is the sly and sardonic British cupcake SUSANNAH YORK. Here she costars with JAMES COBURN in the underrated comedic crime caper DUFFY. Exotic locations, droll dialogue, and lots of twists and turns make this one well worth the watch in addition to the great chemistry between the two romantic leads.

Much to our continuing surprise and delight is the unexpected positive response to the erotic Danish comedy import DAGMAR’S HOT PANTS. DIANA KJAER of FANNY HILL fame and co-star ANN GRETE from WITHOUT A STITCH are delightful in this tongue-in-cheek tale of the oldest profession updated in the seventies and AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME on DVD.

Ordering and plot information are posted elsewhere when you click on the titles, and be sure to check out some delightful saucy images of NATALIE WOOD in our GALLERY section.

June 2007

This month we have unearthed some extremely hard-to-find movies starring the biggest female foreign stars of the fifties. Without the likes of Italian bombshells SOPHIA LOREN and GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA, as well as French sex kitten BRIGITTE BARDOT, it's highly unlikely there would ever be a website and store called CINEMASIRENS. These lovely ladies literally opened the floodgates for other starlets from Europe to assert themselves on movie screens and gain worldwide popularity. In addition, they were the first to gain the attention of the big American movie studios who beckoned and tried to create proper vehicles for them to provide the necessary exposure. Among the first to cross the Atlantic was SOPHIA LOREN although her first English language film was actually shot in Greece. BOY ON A DOLPHIN teams her up with ALAN LADD and the film achieved notoriety for two reasons; Shots of a soaking wet LOREN made their way into publications all over the world (similar to JACQUELINE BISSET's wet tee-shirt in THE DEEP), and rumors flew about how the much taller young woman literally stood in a ditch so as not to overshadow her Hollywood co-star. SOPHIA's natural physical charms and earthy manner are the highlight of this much sought-after film.

Most of the titles offered here starring GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA are from the late forties and fifties, arguably her most productive period. DEATH LAID AN EGG is unique in a number of ways. First of all, GINA plays the older woman to nubile EWA AULIN's young predator as this production was shot in the late sixties. Also, LOLLOBRIGIDA usually starred in breezy frothy comedies or serious melodrama. This picture may be the most offbeat role she has ever taken as it teems with blood and psychodrama. Definitely well worth viewing and a film that appears to have disappeared into the celluloid cracks until now.

We were going through our original stored masters recently, and unearthed a long forgotten version of the BRIGITTE BARDOT comedy CRAZY FOR LOVE. When we screened it, we understood the reason for not offering it before; The visual quality of the print and master is not really that great though it is certainly watchable, and, it is actually the French language version of LE TROU NORMAND with English subtitles for the American release. Rather than pass on it, we found it so charming we have decided to offer it at a reduced price so all you BARDOT fans can get the chance to see her first film appearance on both VHS and DVD..

Click on your title of choice in the UPDATE section above for more photos and ordering information, and make sure to visit our newly posted GALLERIES for additional images of these legendary heartthrobs.

March 2007

Our CINEMASIRENS mascot and hostess of our upcoming TV series, SCARLETT MASCARA, is wearing appropriate attire for this month's new releases. And if the gangster outfit worn by our SAUCY CINEMA star doesn't give you a clue as to the nature of the fare, perhaps the art deco machine gun does. But before we start plunging into the world of motion picture sex and violence, let's start off with something a little bit more mainstream. Then again...perhaps not. In Director Jules Dassin's 10:30PM SUMMER, MELINA MERCOURI is married to wealthy PETER FINCH but must compete with the younger and more seductive ROMY SCHNEIDER for his attentions. This menage-a-toir rarity got a lot of publicity when it was first released in the sixties due to its controversial subject matter. Today the shower scene between the two female leads would barely raise an eyebrow, and this thought- provoking film holds up surprisingly well four decades later. Worth the viewing experience.

Shifting gears a bit, we move to France where beautiful CATHERINE DENEUVE joins forces with brooding JEAN-LOUIS TRITIGNANT to hunt down the brutal biker gang who killed his wife and daughter. Handled differently ACT OF AGGRESSION would almost appear to be a foray into the world of exploitation films for its two stars, including a gratuitous nude scene for DENEUVE, but the movie takes some unexpected turns at the conclusion and offers a departure from the usual characters played by this ageless beauty.

One of our favorite glamour gals, and a performer new to this site, is leggy and luscious JULIET PROWSE. Although she never quite achieved the silver screen stardom she deserved, her performance in the offbeat shocker WHO KILLED TEDDY BEAR? gives a clear indication of what her potential was had she been given a chance. A very very dark and twisted noir cult item, we are happy to resuscitated this one not only to show off this beauty's multi-tiered performance, but also to give fans a chance to see SAL MINEO in one of the most unsettling performances of his short career. New York at night was a scary place in the sixties and when you watch this strange brew of genres you'll understand exactly why.

For more information about the movies and how to order, click on your title(s) of choice above. And as always, additional glimpses of the ladies await you in our updated GALLERY section. Still not enough? Join our CINEMASIRENS YAHOO GROUP if you haven't done so already and view the more "adult oriented" photo files awaiting you there. Included this month are some rare pix of ROMY SCHNEIDER in various states of undress. Who could resist?

January 2007

As we start a brand new year with technology running rampant be advised that CINEMASIRENS will continue to evolve as well. We will still provide our collector fans with the best duplicate versions of vintage movies on both VHS and DVD formats, but plans are also in the works to move into VIDEO-ON-DEMAND and CABLE and SATELLITE Television in 2007. To that end, we have recently finished production on our new TV series SAUCY CINEMA featuring bodacious bombshell SCARLETT MASCARA (see photo at the top) and will keep you posted when it starts airing. In the meantime, we have digitally re-mastered one of our favorite often-neglected films starring the mouth-watering MAMIE VAN DOREN...BORN RECKLESS. Available for the first time on DVD, see MAMIE sing, dance. act and sashay in this hodge podge mixture of comedy, cowboys, music and MS. VAN DOREN.

In the late sixties and early seventies one of the most adorable young gals to grace the screen was the beatific LEIGH TAYLOR-YOUNG. Her long hair and angelic face made her the stuff of what hippy dreams were made of, and we are proud to have finally unearthed a copy of THE BUTTERCUP CHAIN. Indigenous to the era of peace and love, this dramatic, comic, and erotic little gem was neglected when first released but holds up incredibly well years later. In addition, a strong and compelling performance by English actress JANE ASHER, known primarily for her relationship with BEATLE PAUL McCARTNEY, adds to the mix. And for HAMMER HORROR fans we suggest you be on the lookout for the blonde and beautiful YUTTE STENSGAARD in a small but memorable role.

Finally, depending on your point of view and fan attraction, we think we've saved the best for last. We've had a 35mm copy of THE OLDEST PROFESSION for almost twenty years, and have finally pulled it out of storage for transfer. This one tells the story of prostitution through the ages and stars a different leading lady in each vignette directed by an assortment of top European directors. RAQUEL WELCH steals the movie with her star turn, but don't overlook the talent and beauty of ELSA MARTINELLI, JEANNE MOREAU and ANNA KARINA in this rare and unique erotic comedy anthology.

For additional information about the above flicks click on to your title of choice. And as always, you can see more images of these FABULOUS FEMMES of FILM in all their glory at our updated GALLERY section. Enjoy the view!

September 2006

As we finally move away from the lazy hazy days of Summer into the crispness of Fall, allow us to take this opportunity at CINEMASIRENS to enlighten you regarding all the new and exciting femmes and films we now offer. For starters, take notice of the beautiful and bodacious young lady gracing the top of our UPDATE page. Her name is SCARLETT MASCARA and you will be seeing a lot more of her in the months to come. We recently completed a television pilot entitled SAUCY CINEMA with SCARLETT MASCARA, and both it and the ongoing series will be coming to a television set near you in the not-too-distant future. But more about that and her a little later on. For starters, let’s address that which has kept us going these last six years—the unearthing of forgotten films starring the hottest sex symbols onscreen and off:

Blonde cutie-pie CONNIE STEVENS was a popular TV star during the 50’s and 60’s with her starring roles on HAWAIIAN EYE and WENDY & ME. Although still a fan favorite at the end of the Swinging Sixties, her star began to wane and roles were short in coming. As she was about to hit her milestone fortieth birthday, she made the decision to drastically change her image. The result of that choice was the cult exploitation film SCORCHY. In it, she plays an undercover detective out to bust a bigtime drug smuggling operation. Flimsy plot aside, the flick gained notoriety for her bare breasted performance and brazen sexuality. Long out of circulation, we are proud(?) to unveil this sought after hippy dippy seventies throwback in both VHS and DVD formats. CONNIE may want to forget this foray into the world of drive-in drivel but we think you’ll get a big kick out of it. We did!

ELKE SOMMER has long been a fan favorite on our site and we take great pleasure in locating her first English language picture WHY BOTHER TO KNOCK, a.k.a. DON’T BOTHER TO KNOCK. Although she, like CONNIE STEVENS, might prefer to forget this turkey, we love seeing this gorgeous German gal at the height of her youthful beauty. This role garnered her a lot of publicity at the time, and helped get her the attention she needed to finally have Hollywood come calling with bigger and better roles. A light, frothy sex comedy from jolly Old England during the psychedelic Sixties.

JEAN HARLOW was at the height of her Hollywood fame when she died at a very young age. CARROLL BAKER plays the glamorous movie queen who was the darling of the party set, a celebrated denizen of third-rate hotels and a symbol of loose life during the period. This biography competed with another version starring CAROL LYNLEY, but it was the BAKER version which struck a chord with the viewing audience. HARLOW is excessive and campy with a strong, albeit strange supporting cast, but we love CARROLL in any role and are happy to bring you another corpse from the Paramount Pictures graveyard.

The gorgeous gal you see up at the top of our UPDATE page and in the gallery above is our new discovery — HOLLY HOLCOMB. An incredibly gifted 23 year old actress-singer, she won the part of SCARLETT MASCARA over hundreds of other hopefuls, and will be the hostess of our new television series SAUCY CINEMA. As the only child of Hollywood movie mogul Max Mascara, she inherited a collection of rare and unique motion pictures starring the sexiest screen queens of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. We’re in post-production on the first episode and will keep you abreast of screening dates and times when it airs in the USA. And if that’s not enough to stir up your collective juices, may we suggest a visit to our CINEMASIRENS YAHOO CLUB where we have posted pictures of both CONNIE STEVENS and CARROLL BAKER in various states of provocative undress for the eyes of ‘adults only.’ After all, isn’t temptation and titillation the stuff of which dreams are made of? For more info about the new releases and how to order simply click on your title(s) of choice. More excitement in the months to come so stay tuned.

July 2006

One of our favorite CINEMASIRENS and yours as well continues to be MAMIE VAN DOREN. She made her name as the perennial bad girl in a series of exploitation films made during the 1950’s, and we finally found the one we’ve been searching for. Yes, it’s GIRLS TOWN, an incredible array of juvenile delinquent plot twists from the unfettered mind of shlock producer Albert Zugsmith. Where else could you find MEL TORMÉ, PAUL ANKA, RAY ANTHONY and THE PLATTERS starring in a female prison picture? Even GLORIA TALBOT. CATHY CROSBY and oh-so-innocent ELINOR DONAHUE are seen in all their glorious prison ensembles in this unintentionally hilarious blast from the past.

About twenty years ago we were able to get our hands on a 16mm print of the JAYNE MANSFIELD Euro comedy PANIC BUTTON, and for all you diehard DVD fans this one’s for you. That’s right, thanks to modern digital technology you can finally own the first edition of this screwball comedy which was the precursor to the Mel Brooks classic THE PRODUCERS. With a supporting cast of MIKE CONNORS, AKIM TAMIROFF, MAURICE CHEVALIER and ELEANOR PARKER chewing up the Italian scenery, this is a must-have for MANSFIELD collectors.

And in a more serious vein, we are proud to present a cult classic rarely seen except for its initial release. THE INCIDENT is a gritty and unnerving melodrama starring MARTIN SHEEN and TONY MUSANTE as two drunken thugs terrorizing a train-full of New York passengers in 1967. The scrumptious DONNA MILLS makes her screen debut here, and legendary beauty JAN STERLING also plays a critical role in this rarity. Though in her middle age at the time of production, she still has the incredible face you see at the top of the site this month.

October 2005

Inexorably linked by both time and fate, blonde bombshells MAMIE VAN DOREN and JAYNE MANSFIELD continue to provide stimulation and controversy even to this day. It was MANSFIELD who died in a car crash while on her way to a job VAN DOREN was originally booked for, and the two appeared separately but billed together in LAS VEGAS HILLBILLIES. They both shocked the world when they appeared nude in TWO NUTS IN SEARCH OF A BOLT and PROMISES PROMISES, and as shown in the photograph below, even partied together with their respective husbands while part of the Hollywood glitterati.

In RUNNING WILD, MAMIE VAN DOREN cemented her place as the ultimate blonde bad girl with a heart of gold. Juvenile delinquent films were wildly popular during the 1950’s and producers found her face, body and personality ideal for these notorious exploitation films. Plus the fact that she could also sing and dance allowed her to get even more screen time than other sex kittens of the era who toiled in the B-movie biz. A rare title worth adding to your MAMIE collection.

By the time JAYNE MANSFIELD appeared opposite CAMERON MITCHELL in DOG EAT DOG, her star power had vastly diminished. In the “swinging sixties” her particular brand of fifties tease had become antiquated and she was forced to head overseas to find work. In this over-the-top German/Italian production, she literally chews up the scenery as a gun moll, but we at least get the chance to see that still incredible body shown to all of its best advantages.

LILI ST. CYR , star of STRIPTEASE ARTISTE, was born Willis Marie Van Shaak in 1918, and became the best-known postwar stripper in North America. Unlike her predecessors, ST. CYR heralded the slimmer and more linear woman of our own current time period. She was cool, calm, even icy — blonde and beautiful, and it was said that Marilyn Monroe modeled herself after LILI from Minneapolis. With hugely elaborate stage sets, this erotic icon rarely bumped or ground, but in numbers such as “Love Moods,” where she bathed in a $10,000 crystal bath, and “Boudoir Fantasy,” she paraded around with an impeccable class that rendered her deliciously untouchable. Aside from stripping she also appeared as an actress in SON OF SINBAD (1955) and the movie version of Norman Mailer’s THE NAKED AND THE DEAD (1958) confirming her credentials as a CINEMA SIREN.

September 2005

This month we’ve literally scoured the globe to bring you an international mix of highly unusual, somewhat lambasted and definitely controversial motion pictures starring the famous and the forgotten. For starters, we’ve decided to address a situation that has been on the minds of many of our customers for years concerning the availablity of foreign language versions of our films. Although we’ve primarily concentrated on English dubbed prints regardless of original language, this time out we are attempting a noble experiment and eagerly await the results. So...for all of you have requested original language versions of foreign films we proudly present the French letterboxed version of A RAVISHING IDIOT starring BRIGITTE BARDOT and ANTHONY PERKINS. This screwball comedy directed by EDOUARD MOLINARO was also known as UNE RAVISSANTE IDIOTE as well as ADORABLE IDIOT, BEWITCHING SCATTERBRAIN, and AGENT 36-24-36. To say that it was not well received at the time would be putting it mildly as noted by this review from DAILY CINEMA stating that “the plot is strictly Marxian (Groucho not Karl) but the treatment is something less than sprightly and the chatter a bit overbearing . . . but no film’s ever found BB a handicap. And though she’s sacrificed steamy sex for pert fun, she’s still a jolly girl to have around.” Frankly, we find that this goofy Cold War comedy released in 1963 plays better than expected and BARDOT really is adorable, and if you prefer listening to BEBE’s real voice . . . this one’s for you.

CARROLL BAKER has always been one of our favorites whether fresh and young in BABY DOLL or a bit, shall we say, world weary in her later shot erotic European programmers. Needless to say she ran the gamut from the sublime to the ridiculous during her checkered career and in 1964, the same year she would gain international stardom in the Harold Robbins potboiler THE CARPETBAGGERS, she would also be at the mercy of five sex-starved men in the black & white British melodrama STATION-SIX SAHARA. Despite critical disdain for this one like the BARDOT comedy, we find it to be well worth watching and have remastered it for the first time in DVD format. If you have a place in your heart and mind for BAKER, we suggest you add this to your DVD collection.

Last up, but certainly not least, is a rarity starring one of the most enigmatic sex symbols of the sixties, Israeli born beauty DALIAH LAVI. Although known in America primarily for her sexy stint opposite DEAN MARTIN as MATT HELM in THE SILENCERS, this bountiful brunette had a respectable European career prior to coming to the U.S. Directed by Italian shockmaster MARIO BAVA in 1963, the horror-mystery WHAT! was banned in Italy for its sado-sexual theme and heavily censored before its release elsewhere. Perhaps the site of future DRACULA star CHRISTOPHER LEE savagely whipping the pain loving LAVI was too much for audiences to bear at the time. We don’t think so, and proudly present the UNCUT European version originally released as LA FRUSTA E IL CORPO and NIGHT IS THE PHANTOM in all its kinky and quirky glory.

For specific information regarding the above movies simply click on to your title of choice. And of course, more images of these celestial starlets can be seen in our updated GALLERY section for those of you in need of even more eye candy. Come back again for the latest additions to the world of CINEMASIRENS.

August 2005

Those of you you who have been visiting our site over the last few years know that we do our best to locate and acquire rare and unique films starring our favorite CINEMASIRENS. And we never hesitate to respond to requests pertaining to movies which seem to have disappeared except in the memories of dedicated fans. So, with that said, we happily present the highly anticipated (and requested) return of the sleek and sensual sixties musical-comedy THE PLEASURE SEEKERS. It stars ANN-MARGRET, CAROL LYNLEY, and PAMELA TIFFIN as three lovely and lonely American girls looking for fun and romance in Spain, and was a remake of the hit musical THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN shot by the same director ten years earlier. A real find and a “pleasure” to share with you all.

Next up is an obscure but highly sought after little film known primarily for the introduction of its female star JOANNA CAMERON. This adorable little brunette minx plays the most liberated of ladies in B.S. I LOVE YOU, and this is the uncut version featuring quite a bit more feminine flesh than what was shown years later on broadcast television. CAMERON would go on to Saturday morning TV stardom as the superheroine called ISIS, and we can assure you the little boys who watched her then will be very pleased to see her now in this most grownup of roles. Another of our favorites, sophisticated JOANNA BARNES is featured here as well in the role of a ruthless sex obsessed advertising excecutive.

Finally, for all those of you out there who will only watch movies formatted in DVD, we proudly present the remastered version of L’ANIMAL starring RAQUEL WELCH and JEAN-PAUL BELMONDO. Frankly, we consider this action-comedy to be highly underrated and therefore have added more stills from it to the site to herald the arrival of this little gem, and perhaps give more incentive to gawk at the fabulous RAQUEL.

Additional promo stills and order information are available when you click on your movie title of choice, or go to our brand new MOVIE ART SECTION. In it you will find original poster art of movies we sell allowing you to make the quickest point of purchase selection. And if that’s not enough to keep your eyeballs happy, go to our GALLERY section to see the new postings of these delicious damsels strutting their stuff in vintage publicity shots. That’s all for now. More to come in the Fall.

June 2005

We've been fans of tawdry TUESDAY WELD since we saw her as teenage temptress THALIA MENINGER on the TV series THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS. And one of our favorite movies in which she starred was the highly underappreciated cult flick PRETTY POISON opposite ANTHONY PERKINS. We've been searching for this seriocomic masterpiece for years and are thrilled to announce its arrival here at CINEMASIRENS and transfer to VHS and DVD from a really beautiful well preserved print. This one is a real joy from its surreal beginning to its twisted end and worth watching and owning for sure.

Another “lost” cult item highly demanded from many of you rabid JANET LEIGH fans is AN AMERICAN DREAM. Based on the Norman Mailer novel and co-starring STUART WHITMAN and a mostly inebriated ELEANOR PARKER, this is another one of those films which must be seen to be believed. Highly campy and played with soap opera intensity, it bombed in theatres and was abandoned by its studio but we will just not allow it to die. And for nostalgic pinup fans there's an appearance by 1968 PLAYMATE OF THE YEAR SUSAN DENBERG as a maid with obvious intentions adding even more spice to the proceedings. And JANET LEIGH ain’t exactly chopped liver either folks!

Lastly, for those of you who prefer to put their minds on hold and their libidos in "drive", we proudly present LANA WOOD and her bodacious ta-tas in the exploitation/horror pic DARK EYES, also known as DEMON RAGE. Though we truly believe this actress deserved better than appearing in this kind of schlockfest to pay the bills, we nevertheless feel obligated to provide you with the opportunity to get a thorough look at what made her so popular. And of course, any movie which has both BRITT EKLAND and JOHN CARRADINE as backup support demands we pay careful attention to its existence, despite the ravaging it took by critics when released.

More information available on each and every video and DVD when you click on your title of choice. And of course, be sure to visit our newly updated GALLERY for some additional juicy glimpses of these lovely ladies who primp and pose for your eyes only.

May 2005

We've been playing catchup over the last month acquiring more unique and obscure titles for the CINEMASIRENS video store, and so, as the old adage goes...without further ado...herewith are the latest movies to be added to our ever-expanding collection. Leading the pack, as indicated by the lovely photo gracing the top of our page, is one of the most popular and enduring female stars of all time...SOPHIA LOREN:

Although certainly not up there with some of her more acclaimed performances, nevertheless in the 1968 comedy GHOSTS ITALIAN STYLE her beauty and comedic timing are impeccable and worth watching. This outrageous farce has been restored and remastered for the digital age, and we're happy to have finally found it and present it for your viewing pleasure.

Sultry vixen VICTORIA PRINCIPAL is primarily known for her acting on television, but she made her cinematic debut in the rarely seen motion picture THE NAKED APE. Based very loosely on the Desmond Morris bestseller, this offbeat 1973 boxoffice bomb incorporates live action and animation in an eclectic mix of image and sound. For you trivia buffs, take note of her leading man JOHNNY CRAWFORD whose claim to fame was playing CHUCK CONNER'S son on the television series THE RIFLEMAN. And to add to the strange combination of names attached to the project, throw in PLAYBOY MAGAZINE founder HUGH HEFNER in his first-ever role as Executive Producer. Frankly folks, if you loved HIERONYMOUS MERKIN you're the perfect audience for this one. If nothing else, VICTORIA is a very young and very stunning presence to be reckoned with.

One of the most popular films on our site stars bodacious ANN-MARGRET as THE SWINGER. For those of you who can't get enough of her, and have been demanding it, we are pleased to offer the redigitized DVD version of her film noir classic KITTEN WITH A WHIP. See our girl as the ultimate bad babe juvenile delinquent, seducing and terrorizing a very confused JOHN FORSYTHE. With a hot jazz score, and some really scandalous and outrageous scenes for its time, we suggest you check this version out and see what all the fuss was about when it first was released in 1964.

That does it for now, but be sure to click on to our GALLERY for the latest additions of hot pix of the hot ladies featured in this month's movies. And as always, for more information about the films and how to order them, simply click on the title of your choice.

UPDATE

April 2005

At CINEMASIRENS we search the globe to unearth the films that have either disappeared or have been overlooked by the youthful programmers heading contemporary video companies. And judging from the tremendous response we have received to the site both here in the United States and abroad, we must be doing something right. So...finally...after many years of frustration, we proudly unveil our latest finds this month starring three of our favorites and hopefully yours as well.
The sultry KIM NOVAK was a beautiful, sexy, and enigmatic actress whose star shone brightly during the 1950s. At one point her popularity and fame were equal to the other blonde bombshell of the period MARILYN MONROE, and yet she walked away from Hollywood and didn't return until years later. THE LEGEND OF LYLAH CLARE, shot in 1968 was, unfortunately, a poor choice for her as well as everyone involved. Though a laughable box office disaster during its initial release, it has since gone on to receive notoriety for both its subject matter and its overboard, chew-up-the-scenary performances. We love it, however, and think you will too if you just sit back, don't take it seriously, and enjoy the ride.

JACQUELINE BISSET was catapaulted to international stardom when she rose from the surf in sunny Malibu Beach, lost her top, and received instant stardom as an ill-fated actress in THE SWEET RIDE. A strange combination of breezy comedy, soap opera, biker flick, and high toned morality play, this picture was also released in 1968 and has since disappeared from distribution. With TONY FRANCIOSA as an aging playboy-tennis bum-guru, MICHAEL SARAZZIN as the love interest, and BOB (GILLIGAN) DENVER as a kooky jazz pianist, how could we resist bringing this one back from oblivion?

And last this month, but certainly far from least, we present acclaimed Italian icon GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA in the 1951 crime drama FOUR WAYS OUT. Co-written by FREDERICO FELLINI and winner of the Best Italian Film at the 1951 Venice Film Festival, this noir classic of neo-realism still holds up incredibly well after all these years A great character study and an impressive starring vehicle for the then-ascending sex symbol, we're proud to add this one to our othe list of LOLLOBRIGIDA features.

Get more in-depth information by clicking on the titles of your choosing or go to the MOVIES section for summaries, prices, and how to order. Also, as we do every UPDATE, new photos have been posted of these lovely ladies in the GALLERY section that are even more tantalizing than those seen on this page, so check 'em out. Until next time...enjoy the pleasures of the past we happily bring to you in the present.

UPDATE

March 2005

This month we bring to you three very different movies which star sultry sirens who have achieved legendary lady status albeit for very different reasons. Also, the films we have managed to unearth have become almost impossible to find but ultimately well worth our search and your viewing pleasure.
At the top of our page for MARCH we have posted a lovely headshot of one of the hottest glamour gals to burst from the pages of a vintage Playboy centerfold to cinema stardom...STELLA STEVENS. In the gritty jazz themed TOO LATE BLUES, she stars with BOBBY DARIN as a wannabe singer who will do anything to survive. This is a nasty little backstage drama long since forgotten but deserving of a place in film history due to the fact that it was the directorial debut of actor-turned-director JOHN CASSEVETES. Also notable for its great musical score and no nonsense performances by the two stars and ensemble company.

THE BELLBOY & THE PLAYGIRLS is noteworthy for two things...the ample endowments of popular fifties pinup and Playboy fan favorite JUNE ("THE BODY") WILKINSON, and the very early work of noted writer-director FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA. Of course many of you probably think that's three things but we prefer not too vulgarize something that's been judged already over the years as somewhat vulgar and a film the great director might prefer to forget. It was his job to shoot the color scenes with WILKINSON and her nudie cutie lingerie models inserted into a German made black & white comedy starring a then unknown KARIN DOR, later to find eternal fame as a James Bond villainess. Definitely a novelty item for those with a voyeuristic inclination.

One our own all-time favorites is CATHERINE DENEUVE who stars opposite soulmate MARCELLO MASTROIANNI in the offbeat comedy A SLIGHTLY PREGNANT MAN. Directed by JACQUES DEMY in a wry but engaging style, it was not well received when first released in the early seventies but has since become something of a cult item sought out by fans of both stars and the director. Highly unusual in its presentation and predating other similar Hollywood concepts.

For more information click on the titles of your choosing or go to the MOVIES section and check out summaries, prices, and how to order. Also, as always, we have posted some great still photos of this month's stars and some other surprises in our updated GALLERY so check it out. Lots of good stuff still to come in the months ahead so don't be a stranger to these pages, and thanks to you all for the continued worldwide enthusiasm and support. We must be doing something right!

January 2005

As we begin the New Year we'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best and thank you for the great response we've had to the site and our titles in 2004. In keeping with our policy of unearthing movies that have either disappeared into the cracks or have simply been neglected by the big video companies, we proudly present our latest find starring one of the more popular Sirens of the Sixties and Seventies...CAROL LYNLEY.
Before she got capsized in THE POSEDON ADVENTURE and appeared in the popular TV-movie THE NIGHT STALKER, CAROL LYNLEY starred with GIG YOUNG and OLIVER REED in the gothic-themed thriller THE SHUTTERED ROOM. Though shot in Britain the movie takes place in New England. is based on an H.P. Lovecraft story, and has achieved something of a cult status over the years. LYNLEY is at her youngest and loveliest in this chilling tale of dark secrets from the past resurfacing to torment those living in the present. Highly recommended and a great re-discovery.

Also at her youngest and loveliest is one of the most comely CINEMASIRENS of all time...MISS BETTY BOOP. Though a cartoon character created by the inspired FLEISCHER BROTHERS during the 1930s, her fame and charisma continue to endure beyond those of many of her living counterparts. We went back to the vaults and pulled the masters for BOMBSHELL BETTY BOOP, a compilation of her very early cartoons created before the censors lengthened her skirt and toned her down for mass consumption. This one is part of our brand new BUDGET LINE and has been digitized for DVD.

Although certainly not the usual gender star found on our site, nevertheless JAMES BOND deserves to be here if only for his admiration of the fabulous females who populated his movies. In MY NAME IS BOND, a compilation of the original movie trailers from the first ten features, such sultry starlets as URSULA ANDRESS, HONOR BLACKMAN, DANIELLA BIANCHI, SHIRLEY EATON, CLAUDINE AUGER and others too numerous to mention can be seen once again in all their youthful glory. We literally salvaged this from a pile of forgotten 16mm prints and transferred them all to video to create another addition to our BUDGET LINE.

And if that's not enough to stir your juices and still make your pocketbook happy, we are also pleased to announce our first ever OVERSTOCK SALE! That's right, we are loaded with inventory from some of our earliest and most popular catalogue titles and are selling them in VHS and DVD at our lowest prices ever. Don't miss the chance to see JAYNE MANSFIELD strut her stuff in TOO HOT TO HANDLE...

BRIGITTE BARDOT as a very bad girl getting into even more trouble in LOVE IS MY PROFESSION...

RAQUEL WELCH as a bikini-clad object of a mad artist's desires in SHOOT LOUD...LOUDER I DON'T UNDERSTAND...

and GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA in an early appearance in the film noirish heist caper ALINA.

If you missed out on these great movies before now is your chance to add them to your collection. For prices and additional order information click on the titles of your choosing or go to the MOVIES section at left and scroll down to your desired film. And of course, as always, you can go to our GALLERY section for even more unique photos of the lovelies appearing in the above named films. And if that's not enough, don't forget to visit our CINEMASIRENS YAHOO club for some of the steamier pix too hot to be posted here. You won't regret joining. Until next month when we bring you more glamour gals of the past for your present day pleasure...Have a Happy and a Healthy New Year.

December 2004

We continue to be baffled by the fact that the big video companies continue to have no interest whatsoever in releasing films from the past that were not considered "hits." Therefore, in our continuing attempt to bring our customers rare and unique movies that will never see the light of a BLOCKBUSTER aisle, we now share with you the fruits of our laborious searches.
It's taken us years to finally track this title down but it was well worth the effort. A sultry young ANN-MARGRET teams up with French heartthrob ALAIN DELON in the gritty film noir drama ONCE A THIEF. Generally overlooked by critics and audiences at the time of its release in 1965, it has since become something of a cult favorite and definitely deserves a viewing. With a stellar veteran backup cast of a grizzled VAN HEFLIN and a scenery chewing JACK PALANCE we proudly offer this as a way of spreading holiday cheer and sharing an unearthed treasure.

Before Mike Myers was inspired to create the ultimate sixties superspy AUSTIN POWERS, the world was awash in comedic James Bond parodies. Whether it was DEAN MARTIN as MATT HELM, JAMES COBURN as DEREK FLINT, or even SEAN CONNERY's kid brother NEIL as SECRET AGENT 00 there were plenty of spoofs in the genre. In the Danish 1968 comedy OPERATION LOVEBIRDS, we find the lovely ESSY PERSSON starring as the romantic love interest of inept spy MORTEN GRUNWALD. Known primarily for her willingness to get wild and naked in such celebrated erotica as I, A WOMAN and THERESE AND ISABELLE, she shows a flair for comedy unknown prior to finding this long forgotten laughfest.

And finally for those of you who prefer to be naughty rather than nice at this time of the year, we offer the perfect choice to match your mood. CINEMASIRENS UNVEILED is undoubtedly the raciest title we have ever offered on the site. In this compilation of vignettes designed to reveal the previously hidden assets of many major (and minor) female stars we hope to satisfy the many requests we've had over the years. STELLA STEVENS, BRIGITTE BARDOT, JAYNE MANSFIELD, and LINDA CARTER are among the fan favorites in this program who doff their duds for the sake of art and lend their posteriors to posterity. Be warned that this one is for ADULTS ONLY so send the kids to bed when you watch it!

As an added extra this month we've posted photos in the GALLERY of a few of the glamour gals who get down to the bare facts in CINEMASIRENS UNVEILED so click on for additional daring delights. Also some new pix posted in the YAHOO CINEMASIRENS group so a visit there will definitely be worth the effort. More surprises in the months to come with films and photos you won't find elsewhere so don't be a stranger...and tell your friends about our show.

UPDATE
November 2004

The words used to describe our cinematic selections this time around would be "offbeat", "unusual", and "rare". For starters, very few motion pictures throughout history could be considered more off-the-wall than Anthony Newley's 1969 tour-de-farce Felliniesque ego trip entitled CAN HEIRONYMOUS MERKIN EVER FORGET MERCY HUMPPE AND FIND TRUE HAPPINESS? Filled with music, comedy, naked women, his then-wife JOAN COLLINS and even venerable show biz veterans MILTON BERLE and GEORGIE JESSEL, we've been searching for years to find this curiosity and now proudly present it for the first time since its release. Also prominently on display is Playboy Playmate CONNIE KRESKI making her film debut as the double-entendered MERCY HUMPPE of the title. Originally rated X when it first appeared, today it would probably get a soft R and show up on latenight cable. Definitely worth checking out as you've never seen anything like it and we're happy to have finally found it.

If you're a fan of this site then you know we've always had a soft spot in our hearts for the ever-stimulating MAMIE VAN DOREN. Most of the movies we've offered take advantage of her sultry comedic skills but in the ultra-rare crime caper GUNS GIRLS AND GANGSTERS she plays it totally straight up and serious. A good example of 1950s drive-in fare, it nevertheless got film critic Leonard Maltin to declare that "vigorous direction and a diverting cast make this more enjoyable than expected." We couldn't agree more and suggest all you MAMIE fans add it to your collection.

Another favorite of ours is legendary bodacious blonde bombshell JAYNE MANSFIELD. Like her bosom buddy VAN DOREN she was also usually cast in lighthearted comedic fare but such was not the case when she starred in IT TAKES A THIEF aka THE CHALLENGE. This 1960 British film noir rarity features her in a no-nonsense dramatic role suggesting much of her talent was wasted on too much fluff taken just to pay the bills. Now remastered from a vintage 16mm print in DVD format for the very first time and another collectible worth owning.

And just to show how linked VAN DOREN and MANSFIELD were both in life and death (JAYNE was on her way to a gig subbing for MAMIE when she died in a car crash) here is a once-in-a-lifetime shot of the two of them together at a party sandwiching director TOMMY NOONAN (PROMISES PROMISES, TWO NUTS IN SEARCH OF A BOLT) between them. Lucky man!

For more glamourous and somewhat racier shots of this month's featured fabulous females, check out our November GALLERY chock full of scintillating stills from the past. UPDATE
September 2004

First of all we must begin by announcing the best news we’ve had in three years. Finally, after much trial and error, our webmaster has licked the shopping cart problem and guess what?...you can now order directly online via a secured server. That's right...immediate instant gratification for those of you who would rather click than email or phone us. Not that you still can't do either or both but be aware that we've connected all the technical dots needed to make the program work and to keep all your information absolutely confidential. And with that said let's take a look at what's new this month in our video store:
In the swinging sixties movies started to reflect the sexual revolution that was taking place throughout the world. Many of the films were serious in tone while many more took on the subject with tongue buried firmly in cheek. THE DAISY CHAIN takes a humorous look at sexual morality at the time, and although considered quite a rarity and virtually unknown from that period, we've been able to unearth and deliver it intact to today's audience. There are four individual sequences in the picture, and we bring it to you because two of our favorite actresses get the chance to display their comedy chops...the elusively beautiful CATHERINE DENEUVE, and the incredibly voluptuous ANITA EKBERG

One of our most popular sirens on the site is Italian bombshell GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA. Although we have featured some of her hard-to-find titles in the past, we are proud to present the film that many consider to be her breakthrough role as the aptly named FRISKY in the highly popular 1954 motion picture co-starring VITTORIO DE SICA...BREAD LOVE AND DREAMS. As you can see by the pictures below, her stellar beauty made her equal to and a friendly European rival of even our very own MARILYN MONROE

Last but certainly not least, is French sex kitten BRIGITTE BARDOT remastered in DVD Format for the first time in MADEMOISELLE STRIPTEASE. This continues to be a best seller and we are happy to be able to present it as a digital treat along with some of the recently discovered still photos presented below and in its own photo gallery

For some additional scintillating photos of the ladies in question, click on to this month's GALLERY and see even more of what made these gals the icons of glamour they continue to be even today. To find out more about the movies they appear in and how to order, click on either the titles above or scroll the menu and click on to either the SIRENS or the MOVIES of choice.

UPDATE
August 2004

This is a very exciting UPDATE for us this month as we are about to share some new additions with you which have taken us years to find. In 1966 PLAYBOY MAGAZINE featured sex kitten ingenue ANN-MARGRET sloshing around half naked on a canvas as a human paint brush in stills from her hip new comedy THE SWINGER. Frankly, even though the flick bombed at the box office and seemed more like a RUSS MEYER production without the nudity and busty babes than a major studio release, we stood in a long line of admirers seeking to find it and check out how it holds up today. Well, although it does indeed play like a quaint relic from the sexual revolution, ANN-MARGRET is absolutely wonderful in it. Whether gyrating across the screen in a skimpy leotard, modeling trendy Edith Head fashions, or stripping down to a revealing bikini, she exudes such charm and innocent sensuality you won't pay attention to the silly miniscule plotline and corny gags. A great print and a great addition to our collection of a rarities.

As if that weren't enough, we were also able to obtain an off-the-wall film starring one of our all-time favorite bombshells MAMIE VAN DOREN. That's right, for those of you who yearn to leave their brains on hold and sit back to watch a mind numbing excuse to absorb eye candy, SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE is the alter at which you should worship. As if MAMIE playing a former stripper turned college professor wasn't enough, check out adorable nymphette TUESDAY WELD at the beginning of her career in the role of (what else?) a cutiepie coed. Throw in VAMPIRA, CONWAY TWITTY, LOUIS NYE, MARTIN MILNER, BRIGITTE BARDOT's sister along with a bongo playing chimpanzee and a robot with a gambling addiction and you've got one the most outrageous exploitation films in motion picture history. Be warned however, that this print contains the UNCUT version of the robot's dream wherein he is entertained by topless strippers! Seriously folks this one has to be seen to be believed and we are proud to finally be able to offer it.

Both THE SWINGER and SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE can be purchased in either VHS or DVD formats, along with a newly remastered title we've been selling online for the last three years in VHS only. Another of our favorite sex symbols who continues to be active and still looks great is RAQUEL WELCH. In yet one more insane comedy with the only reason for watching being the breathtaking beauty of its star, SHOOT LOUD LOUDER...I DON'T UNDERSTAND continues to baffle us with its surrealistic antics but it's still worth experiencing. Raquel is gorgeous, funny, and a wonderful foil to Marcello Mastroianni in this Italian mindbender now available in DVD.

So there you have it. Three blasts from the past from three different periods of the psychedelic sixties. Anyone who thinks that BRITTANY SPEARS was the first pop tart to start a trend wearing low slung tight pants and belly revealing tops need only take a gander at the ladies populating the above titles. And for even more glimpses of these tasty teasers, click on to our GALLERY where we've posted additional pulse pounding pix. You won't be disappointed.
